If you celebrate Easter, you always need fun activities for the family throughout the weekend.
It’s a great time to embrace creativity, from Easter egg coloring to cooking, and Easter baskets.
Good Friday Fish Fry
Let’s start with a new recipe, cooking is very creative as well, and we have a great recipe for your Good Friday Fish Fry!
We weren’t very good with the deep frier in the past, so we had some bad results until we found Ina Garten’s Parker’s Fish and Chips! It is so great, everyone wants seconds. Give it a try, and maybe serve it on some new and pretty Easter dishes!
The Flower Market Roasting Pan would be perfect for the fried fish! (You can re-use it on Easter Sunday for your casserole or protein of choice too.)
Our recipe includes “chips” or French fries. This Taylor Serving Platter would work brilliantly.
Set your fish fry table up with this matching Flower Market Fish Vase (OR give it to someone filled with flowers if they’re hosting the fish fry.)
Saturday Egg Coloring
Saturdays are all about egg activities! Egg coloring and cupcake decorating are a must! Moms always have the kitchen table covered in Easter-themed plastic tablecloths and classic egg dyes in lots of cups. Even the babies get completely covered in dye! We always love this activity. The adults always try something new. Last year we did silk-wrapped eggs.
(The kids still have the best ones.) We always give prizes for the best kiddo and best adult egg… it is truly fun.
Great kiddo prizes:
The perfect Bunny Doll Necklace for the egg color master!
Maileg’s Super Hero Mouse or the Royal Twins are sure to be a hit as well:
"Best Egg" winner in 2022:
Easter Cupcakes
Cupcake decorating is always a fun idea for the kids. Make them cupcakes to decorate, and boom! You have their favorite dessert for that night!
If you enjoy Beatrix Potter’s illustrations of Peter Rabbit and his friends, you will love these. This cupcake kit is perfect. It includes 20 coordinating cupcake cases and toppers. (This kit also could be a beautiful addition to any basket you may want to give someone.)

The table is all about embracing the mess. Here are some of our favorite supplies for a fun egg coloring table:
PAAS is an oldie but a goodie. Make sure you buy enough, and don’t forget the vinegar!
Plastic tablecloths are perfect for keeping your table dye-free and giving the room a fun pop of color at the same time:
These stackable egg holders are perfect for the finished eggs. Everyone gets their own holder and they have to fill it up.
While you’re in the kitchen
Why not pull out this pretty Checkered Chop Board and be a little bit of a show-off? You can use them to display charcuterie or grab the matching Check Carving Board and display your protein of choice:
Deviled Eggs, anyone? Use this Taylor Deviled Egg Plate all weekend. Just keep refilling the platter with your fam’s recipe.
Easter Weekend Decor
Always pick one or two pretty centerpieces for the middle of the meal tables. It makes the whole weekend feel special. Here are a few good ideas for this year:
Easter Sunday - Easter Baskets
One of our favorite memories of that day is seeing the look on our kid’s faces when they see what the Easter Bunny brought them! We all gather in the living room and exchange little gifts and candy. We don’t go crazy, but we love giving each other a little gift to show our love and affection.
These Jellycat lovies are a sure favorite!
Florabunda Chicks Set of 3
If you want to make Easter baskets for your Mom or favorite Aunt, look no further than this chick set. They would look beautiful sitting on a table for a tablescape or on a bookshelf in the corner.
Cabbage Garden Salt and Pepper Set
Look at these kissing bunnies! They are salt and pepper shakers, a great gift for a loving couple or to sprinkle around your tablescape.
Country Stroll Basket
This is a basket with hand-painted Ms. and Mr. Rabbit on top. It looks very vintage and has a courtly check ribbon tied nicely at the top. If you enjoy traditional Easter decor, this will make a beautiful addition to your home. Treat yourself!
MacKenzie-Childs Rabbit Cocktail Shaker
Ok, I love this! Of course, it’s a great gift for Dad, but my Mom makes a mean Martini! This rabbit cocktail shaker could benefit a whole bunch of people!
The base is a standard shaker, and the top is a rabbit head. It has a 3-cup capacity with a high-quality look that any one would appreciate!
Have you ever seen a cooler Dad gift? These Agama Black Palladium Cufflinks are just perfect for a basket filler!
The Hunt
Easter Sunday is obviously the biggest day of the Easter Weekend. Everyone relishes in their own traditions, The Easter baskets, Church, and then the Kid's Egg Hunt, which is the big, fun, magical activity. Who doesn’t remember each of their kids barely walking and holding that big basket looking for eggs? The magic of the egg hunt is real.
The Table
When we make it back inside it is go time! The ham is in the oven and the table needs to be decorated. The key to decorating an awesome dining table is to start with a pretty tablecloth. Next, take out your favorite dishes, your mother’s silverware, and Grandma’s glasses. (If you need any of these items, call us). Now pick a few beautiful pieces (the ones shown below will do nicely) that you cherish (or will cherish) for Easter year after year. To continue, layer flowers, candles, and Easter eggs. Add place cards to make everyone feel special, and fold your napkins with a little piece of greenery in them.
Here are some more fun bunnies that would make great centerpieces along with the table options up top:
This is truly a special weekend and we hope you have as much fun as humanly possible!
Thank you for reading and Happy Easter!
